Motor Vehicle Inspector

We provide expert assistance with PennDOT procedures, specializing in Enhanced Vehicle Safety Inspections for title branding, as well as mandatory Annual Safety and Emission Inspections. Our mission is to serve the best interests of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by ensuring every vehicle we inspect meets the highest safety and environmental standards.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to conduct comprehensive vehicle assessments. You will be responsible for detecting damage, identifying missing parts, and diagnosing mechanical issues to ensure compliance with state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspections: Perform thorough safety, enhanced safety, and emissions testing.
  2. Reporting: Prepare detailed, computer-generated reports documenting the vehicle’s condition and any necessary repairs.
  3. Maintenance: Keep all diagnostic equipment and shop tools in optimal working condition.
  4. General Tasks: Perform various semi-skilled and unskilled automotive tasks as required to support shop operations.

Professional Requirements:

  1. ASE Certifications: Required (A4, A5, B3, B4, B5, or B6).
  2. PennDOT Certified Emission: Inspector or Repair Tech (A8).
  3. PennDOT Certified Safety: Class 1, 4, 5, or 7.
  4. PennDOT Certified Enhanced Safety: Class J
  5. Documentation: Valid Driver’s License and personal tools.
  6. Vetting: Must provide a clean 5-year Driver History, pass a Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) background check, and pass a drug screening.

Schedule & Compensation:

  1. Hours: Monday – Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and Saturday (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
  2. Commitment: 40 hours per week (Saturdays included).
  3. Salary: $31,200 – $41,600 per year.
